The Opportunity
RS&H is currently seeking a Principal Architect to join our Aviation Practice in Los Angeles, California.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor and/or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited university.

  • Must be a registered architect in good standing and able to obtain reciprocity.

  • Minimum 8 years of related experience.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and design of aviation-related facilities at medium and large hub airports.

  • Thorough knowledge of architectural design, drafting, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques, and costs.

  • Proven knowledge of general architecture practice including programming, site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering.

  • Capable of marketing building-related services to existing and new clients.

  • Adept at mentoring and encouraging young architects to maximize their abilities.

  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. Ability to build quick rapport.

  • Skilled in the areas of problem identification and solving.

  • Knowledge of the aviation market sector's unique challenges for planning, design, and regulation is preferred.

  • Collaboration with other architects to create cohesive concepts and achieve project requirements.

  • Provide expertise on codes, quality assurance, and construction methods and materials.

  • Capable of handling multiple projects, being innovative, and able to communicate effectively across multiple disciplines with technical detail.

  • Serve as the team leader and the main point of contact for many major architectural issues.

  • Adept at mentoring and encouraging young architects to maximize their abilities.

  • Responsible for all architectural design aspects of large or complex projects.

  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time and budget.

  • Delegate work and provide oversight of group work plans.

  • Manage an architectural team of junior and senior architects as well as administrative personnel.
